Hackthorne Farm

Situated on the Dorset/Somerset border on the rural outskirts of the charming village of Henstridge, these three single-storey cottages have been skilfully converted to offer comfortable, well-equipped accommodation, boasting stylish wet room showers (ideal for the less able) and views from the rear across the beautiful, surrounding countryside. The cottages provide the perfect base from which to explore the area and all it has to offer, with lovely walks and great fishing nearby, whilst quaint villages, the ancient towns of Sherborne and Shaftesbury, Longleat Safari Park and National Trust properties such as Montacute and Stourhead house are all easily accessible. A little further afield lies the wildlife park at Cricket St Thomas, the Haynes Motor Museum, the cathedral city of Salisbury, Stonehenge and even the Dorset Jurassic Coast, a sight not to be missed! A great touring base at any time of year!

Used as the backdrop to Thomas Hardy's ‘Tess of the D'Urbervilles', the lush Blackmore Vale is also home to the little village of Henstridge, situated on the border of Somerset and Dorset. Henstridge itself has a village shop, pubs, restaurants and a café. It also offers lovely walks accompanied by fine views in the glorious countryside. The historic town of Sherborne is just a short drive away and was once home to the famous Sir Walter Raleigh. The National Trust operates a number of properties in the area such as Stourhead House and Gardens whilst the cathedral city of Salisbury, Stonehenge, Bath and The Dorset Heritage Coast are all in the near vicinity. This is a great base from which to explore Somerset and Dorset.
