Situated on the edge of the Marshwood Vale and close to the borders of Somerset and Devon, is the lovely hamlet of Bettiscombe. Located within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the surrounding countryside offers a number of footpaths through this wonderful scenery. The Pilsdon Pen offers fabulous views from the summit and is one of Dorset's highest points whilst a drive through pretty country lanes takes visitors to the thriving market town of Bridport, just seven miles away. This lovely little seaside settlement is renowned for the manufacture of fishing nets and ropes, and boasts a good selection of shops and restaurants. The weekly market was also featured on the television program ' River Cottage'. Also within easy driving distance is the dramatic Jurassic Coast - now a World Heritage Site â€“ and the town of Lyme Regis.
