About the location

Southampton; 7 Winchester; 7

Hampshire offers a wealth of treasures, from rolling countryside, unspoilt beaches, glorious gardens and pretty villages to ancient forests, bustling market towns, historic ships and imposing castles.

Chandler's Ford is a southern Hampshire town situated close to Romsey, and on the edge of the old railway town of Eastleigh, midway between Southampton and Winchester. The town's name derives from the fords which had to be crossed on the old road to Winchester. Although now known as a business centre, Eastleigh itself lies on the banks of the River Itchen, a well known chalk stream beloved by fly fishermen.Good transport links, by, road, rail, or plane (from nearby Southampton Airport), mean that this area is very easily accessible, and offers visitors an excellent touring base from which to explore this diverse area of the south
