Staveley 1.5 miles. Originally a traditional Lakeland farm, Ghyll Bank is located in beautiful countryside, with Lake Windermere less than 5 miles away, and breathtaking views across the Lake District Fells including the unspoilt Kentmere Valley. Ghyll Bank offers two attractive buildings; a wonderful large house and a cosy single-storey cottage. These rural Lake District cottages offer charming holiday accommodation with beautiful walks from the door along ancient bridleways to Brunt Knott, Craggy Wood, Reston Scarr and, for the more experienced walkers, the Kentmere Horseshoe. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a number of activities within easy reach of these Lake District holiday cottages including sailing on Lake Windermere, cycling and fishing, or simply enjoy a relaxing holiday in your rural Lake District retreat. All the village amenities are on hand including shops, a pub, Post Office, chemist and doctor’s surgery, along with a children’s playground. The converted mill yard is home to the renowned Wilf’s Cafe, a cookery school and Hawkshead Brewery, along with Wheelbase Cycle Hire. These great properties are ideal for a rural cottage holiday in the Lake District.

The property

This stone-built cottage offers privacy and seclusion for couples or small families looking to spend some time together. All the accommodation is laid out over a single storey and is arranged in an open plan style. The views of Morecambe Bay and the Kentmere Valley are truly remarkable and the patio gives visitors the opportunity to indulge in a spot of alfresco dining during the hazy summer evenings. In the colder months, the property is turned into a warm and cosy snug, being heated by storage radiators and an atmospheric woodburning stove.

All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x single. Bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. Open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner. Utility room. Note: Bedrooms and bathroom accessed via one small step.
