About the location
Aviemore 12 miles; Inverness 35 miles.
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
Situated in the heart of Scotland's ruggedly beautiful highlands, Grantown-on-Spey has much to offer. The town itself has a wide range of bars, restaurants and shops and the local area provides great facilities for golfers, fishermen, walkers and bird watchers. For those interested in the area's heritage, the Castle Trail and Whisky Trail are close by, as is the Cairngorms National Park, offering a great place for picnics and nature-watching. For a winter break, this is a great location. With both the Cairngorms and Lecht Ski Centre on the doorstep, there are great opportunities for experienced skiers and snowboarders, as well as people looking to try out the sport for the first time. Despite the wide range of activities on offer, the area is still surprisingly peaceful and offers a great hide away for anybody looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
