The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
The small, bustling coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea was originally a fishing village and now offers shops, pubs, a long, wide sandy beaches, dunes and a harbour. Maritime attractions in the area are plentiful, such as the birthplace of Captain Cook and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum. For those more interested in the region's industrial past the Mining Museum is also close by and provides an insight into what life was like in Yorkshire during the industrial revolution. Close to the stunning scenery of the North York Moors and the old spa town of Saltburn, this wonderful spot has something for everyone to enjoy.
