The wonderful ancient, fishing port of Whitby has many attractions, shops, pubs and restaurants. The town is in an excellent location to explore the North York Moors National Park. The most famous attraction in Whitby is the cliff top ruins of Whitby Abbey, built in the 13th century, which is reached by its well known 199 steps. Other attractions in Whitby are Captain Cook Memorial Museum, the scary Dracula Experience, Whitby Museum and the beautiful Pennett Park.
