The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
Linton Falls is a small community and as the name suggest is right next to the spectacular Linton Falls waterfalls, which are seldom out of earshot. Linton Falls is midway and a short (10minute) walk from the charming villages of Linton and Grassington with all their facilities. This is a superb area for walking and cycling, with many well-maintained paths and bridleway to other villages, and access on to the fells and moors. Along quiet roads, you can easy reach the haunting Abbey ruins and Priory at Bolton Abbey, or the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor. Up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden, with spectacular limestone scenery. Linton Falls is a great base for exploring the local area with the market town of Skipton and its medieval castle a short drive away, and many other historic places including Bronte Country, Castle Howard, the elegant spa town of Harrogate, racing at Ripon and the majestic medieval city of York within easy motoring distance. Nearby Grassington is one of the most charming villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Traditional stone cottages and shops are clustered around the cobbled market place, offering exceptional shopping facilities for a village of this size. Both Linton and Grassington have several excellent pubs. Grassington hosts a music and cultural festival in June a 1940’s weekend in September and two Dickensian themed weekend in December as well as a monthly farmer’s market offering a mouthwatering range of organic and homemade local produce.
